Conference Venue

iiWAS2016 will be held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Singapore that is located at the corner of Havelock Road and Kim Seng Road, overlooking the historic Singapore River.

The Hotel is just minutes away from some attraction places like Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay. and very close to the Central Business District (CBD) as well as entertainment and shopping areas such as Marina Bay Sand, Great World Shopping Center, Chinatown and Orchad Road. If you wish to head to the Marina Bay Front, hop onto the River Taxi by the Waterfront for a 45-minute River Cruise.

Ground transportation to/from the airport

Taxi

The simple and easiest way to the conference venue/hotels is to take a taxi. It takes 20-25 minutes, and regular taxi costs about 20-25 USD depending on the time of arrival. You can easily grab a taxi 24/7, and no prior booking is required.

Other inexpensive options (about 2 USD one-way) using public transportations:

MRT (metro train)

Take a green line (East West Line/EW) at Changi Airport station (accessible by foot from terminal 2 or terminal 3), transfer to the EW train (same line) direction to Joo Koon. Get off at Outram Park station, take exit C and walk head northwest to Outram Road toward Outram Park, turn left onto Haveelock Road to find Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.

Bus (no. 36)

Take Bus No. 36 (from any airport terminal) and get off The Esplanade (after 21 stops) and take Bus no. 195 toward Commonwealth, get off the bus at Grand Copthorne hotel and look around to find Grand Copthorne Waterfront.

Getting around the city

The 'Nation City' of of Singapore is well known of its convenience public transport system. Transport near the venue:

  • City train or MRT ; Outram Park MRT Station and Chinatown MRT Station are nearest stations to the hotel and you can go everywhere in Singapore
  • City Buses (SBS/SMRT); there are bus stops near to the hotel located at Havelock Road and Zion road
  • Taxis are comfortable and especially handy if you want to go to places not accessible by the bus or MRT. Taxis here are metered, but there may be surcharges depending on when, where and which company's taxi you board. If you wish to book a taxi, you can call a common taxi booking number, 6-DIAL CAB (6342-5222), and your call will be routed to an available taxi company's call centre.
  • Uber is also available in Singapore
