@WAS Decennial Award

Professor Doctor Gabriele Kotsis, the vice rector for research of Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria was, on December 15^th, 2009, awarded the @WAS Decennial Award in recognition of her outstanding scientific, didactic and organisational contributions to the @WAS organisation and the iiWAS and MoMM conferences series, during iiWAS2009/MoMM2009 gala dinner held at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel, Malaysia. The award was presented to her by Dato' Dr. Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad, the Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia in the presence of Prof Dato Dr Ansary Ahmed, the president of AeU, Dr. Ismail Khalil, the president of @WAS and a large number of iiWAS/MoMM2009 participants.

Professor Doctor Gabriele Kotsis was the general chair of iiWAS and MoMM conferences from 2003 to 2009. She initiated and facilitated the publishing of iiWAS and MoMM proceedings by the Austrian Computer Society from 2003 to 2009. She delivered insightful keynote addresses for the opening of the iiWAS and MoMM conferences in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009. Professor Doctor Gabriele Kotsis was the host of the iiWAS and MoMM conferences in 2008 that took place in Johannes Kepler University, her home University in Linz, Austria.
